The truth behind the controversial 2020 NBA Slam Dunk Contest was revealed by legend Scottie Pippen, one of the judges. He talked to ESPN about the process followed by himself and the rest of the judges admitting that some form of a pact was in place. In the final round, Aaron Gordon jumped over Tacko Fall and most fans believed he should have won, but Derrick Jones Jr. prevailed instead.

“Here is the truth. Let the world know the truth,” he opened up to ESPN’s The Jump on Friday speaking on the judges including himself, Dwyane Wade, Candace Parker, Chadwick Boseman, and Common, “There was a little bit of a pact, but somehow we punched the scores in and they came up wrong.”

“We just messed up,” he confessed explaining why the finalists did not go another round, “We actually tried to switch to make them a tie, but the machines locked us out. The reality is that we thought we were giving them a tie.”
