The first NBA players that tested positive for coronavirus, Rudy Gobert sent a message to the fans through the NBA. Apart from thanking for the medical support and reminding of the precautions that need to be taken by everybody to prevent the COVID-19 spread, the 27-year-old French center pointed out that he is feeling better adding his regret for not taking coronavirus seriously at first.
“I’ve been feeling a little better every single day,” said the back-to-back NBA Defensive Player of the Year before commenting on mocking coronavirus before he was found positive and since confirmed as a pandemic, “I wish I could have taken this thing more seriously.”
Following Gobert, his Utah Jazz teammate, Donovan Mitchell, and Detroit Pistons forward Christian Wood tested positive for coronavirus. The NBA had already suspended the season hoping for action to resume once all security goals for fans and players are met.
