Zalgiris Kaunas’ Rokas Jokubaitis declared for the 2020 NBA draft, according to Lithuanian reporter Donatas Urbonas.
The 19-year-old Lithuanian point guard carries experience from 22 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games including ten this season. The latest European prospect entering the NBA draft averaged 2.2 points in 6 minutes per 2019-20 contest.
Debuted with the senior Zalgiris squad back in the 2017-18 season, at 17. Up to the decision to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 LKL campaign, the promising and upcoming point guard posted 7.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per match.
His impressive rise earned him a men’s national team call-up after previously representing his country in U16, U18, and U19 competitions. Jokubaitis scored seven points, dished out six assists and grabbed three rebounds in his lone international appearance at the senior level.
The draft was scheduled to take place on June 25. However, uncertainty surrounding the conclusion of the 2019-20 season may delay the draft until August or September.
