Giannis Antetokounmpo ranks 18th on Forbes’ list of highest-paid athletes

The coronavirus outbreak which brought the sports world pretty much to a halt for a while has certainly impacted the earning of athletes worldwide.

Forbes came out with its list of highest-paid athletes who earned a total of 3.6 billion dollars which is 9% less than last year, the first decline since 2016.

Roger Federer took the top for the first time with $106.3M followed by Christiano Ronaldo with $105M and Lionel Messi with $104M. Neymar is fourth with $95.5M while LeBron James completes the Top 5 with $88.2M.

Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant are right behind him with $74.4M and $63.9M respectively as the only three basketball players among the top ten.

Russell Westbrook ranks 11th ($57M), James Harden 17th ($47.8M) while Giannis Antetokounmpo is 18th with $47.6M.

Interestingly, New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson has already made the list and at No. 57 at that with $27.3M.

Aside from Giannis, the only other European basketball player to make the ranking is Kristaps Porzingis at number 78 with $24.5M.
