Denver Nuggets coach Mike Malone hopes to see his star center Nikola Jokic on the plane that will take the team to Orlando, Florida for the resumption of the NBA season. Jokic’s return to the USA from Serbia has been delayed after he tested positive for coronavirus.
“Next Tuesday, we depart for Orlando. The hope and expectation is that Nikola Jokic will be with us on that plane… From everything that I have heard and talked to him, he feels great and is excited,” Malone said per ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk. He also mentioned that Jokic feels “great” and “excited.”
Jokic needs two negative tests within 24 hours to be cleared to come back to the USA and join the Nuggets. The Serbian big man appeared in photos and videos to have undergone a remarkable body transformation during the hiatus. Nuggets president Tim Connelly said that Jokic “has abs” now to comment on his physical improvement.
