Landry Shamet of the Los Angeles Clippers tested positive for coronavirus, per Shams Charania. He is unlikely to accompany his teammates on the trip to Orlando for NBA’s season-ending tournament.
The Clippers were recently forced to shut down their practice facilities following a positive coronavirus test. The team is still planning to travel to Orlando.
“There’s risk, there’s no option with no risk at this point. You can get it getting gas today down the street,” Shamet said earlier this week regarding the COVID-19 threat, “It’s obviously a concern, but we’re in the best possible situation to combat that.”
Prior to the decision to halt the 2019-20 season due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Wichita State alumni posted 9.7 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per contest over 47 appearances including 27 starts.
His team is ranked second in the Western Conference heading into the eight additional regular season games with a 44-20 record, 5.5 wins behind the Los Angeles Lakers, and 1.5 wins ahead of the Denver Nuggets.
