Chicago Bulls’ lead assistant Chris Fleming will interview for the New York Knicks head coaching vacancy on Thursday (July 9), according to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes.

The 50-year-old expert joined the Bulls for the 2019-20 season after spending three years with the Brooklyn Nets. He began his NBA coaching career as an assistant for the Denver Nuggets in 2015-16.

Fleming was on the head of Brose Bamberg for six years, from 2008 until 2014, during which he led the team to four German League titles, four German Cup as well as three German SuperCup trophies. He was named Coach of the Year in 2011.

Fleming has gained a reputation as a smart offensive mind. While the Bulls had the 29th-ranked offense this season, they actually averaged the 5th-most wide-open shots per game (but hit them at the 9th-worst rate in the NBA).
