Houston Rockets’ Russell Westbrook has tested positive for coronavirus and will remain in self-isolation, following NBA’s protocols, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Westbrook later on publicly stated he tested positive prior to Rockets’ departure for Orlando and remains in quarantine since.
“I’m currently feeling well, quarantine, and looking forward to rejoining my teammates when I am cleared. Thank you for all the well wishes and the continued support. Please take this virus seriously. Be safe. Mask up!”, wrote Westbrook on his message.
As the NBA plans to resume its action on July 31, coronavirus cases are still surging in Florida, raising concern for the future of the season.
