Brooklyn Nets forward Michael Beasley tested positive for coronavirus per The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Beasley, who was acquired by the Nets for the NBA restart, has returned home and his status with the team is uncertain.
Earlier on Tuesday (16/7), ESPN reported that Beasley left the NBA bubble in Orlando, Florida for unspecified reasons. He had yet to enter team practices since he needed to test negative for coronavirus twice for six straight days before joining the rest of his squad.
As it turned out, Beasley had the coronavirus and had to leave the bubble.
Beasley was signed by the Nets due to the team missing numerous players for the NBA restart. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were out with injuries while Spencer Dinwiddie, DeAndre Jordan and Taurean Prince didn’t want to play the rest of the season after testing positive for coronavirus.
