Nikola Jokic spent 14 days in self-isolation in Serbia after testing positive for coronavirus and he got back to the States before the NBA season restart in Orlando, Florida. Jokic watched his teammates practice early this week, though it is still unclear whether he will be cleared to join them when action returns in late July.
The Serbian big man spoke to reporters on Tuesday, reflecting on the past month, going through quarantine and returning in full shape before the season re-start.
“I didn’t get tested before I went to the airport to leave the country. I didn’t even know. I had a normal daily routine”, he said. It wasn’t difficult at all. I was home. I was with my girlfriend. It was actually kind of a vacation for us. It was kind of weird. I was feeling good and feeling normal. I was surprised”, mentioned Jokic about testing positive.
Jokic then commented on his recent transformation, stating that he’s been working on his shape in the long-run. “I don’t think I’m supposed to tell you my pounds and my weight. It’s a team policy. I like that. […] About the pictures, I see how people don’t see the changes,” Jokic told reporters. “I didn’t lose that many pounds in the quarantine and corona”.
“I’m just happy to be here and finally come to Orlando to be with the team. Maybe I’ll surprise everybody. You will see”, he added.
