Jusuf Nurkic discussed his return while preparing for the 2019-20 season to resume in Orlando. He was expected to get on the court shortly before the coronavirus pandemic paused action and will indeed restore himself in the Portland Trail Blazers with a four-month delay.
“I have no restrictions. Feeling great. Excited to play the game,” he noted confirming he is cleared to return following the injury suffered in March 2019, “I am looking forward to playing. It’s going to be fun.”
Like the rest of the players in Orlando, Nurkic is going through a peculiar situation in the NBA bubble. Additional time with teammates does not generate negatives for the Bosnian big.
“Wherever you go you find your teammates,” he responded to a question regarding his adjustment to the unique environment, “That’s good for chemistry.”
Practicing with teammates is one part but facing other sides in exhibition games prior to the eight additional regular season games is eagerly anticipated by Nurkic.
“The way the league is going, bigs have to do everything,” he pointed out while talking about early signs of transitioning to the 4 position to play alongside Hassan Whiteside and guarding shorter opponents.
The season is scheduled to resume on July 30 with the 22 teams involved in the single-site tournament to play eight more regular season matches. The top eight from each conference will advance to the playoffs.
