While Los Angeles Lakers Dwight Howard receiving a warning for not wearing a face-covering in common areas at the NBA campus and debating the use of masks, San Antonio Spurs Marco Belinelli believes the complete opposite.
With his home-country Italy being hard-hit by the coronavirus pandemic, Belinelli explained on a zoom call with the media from inside the NBA bubble in Orlando, why masks and every other precaution should be used.
After being asked on the matter, due to the fact that Texas has also a spike in COVID cases, Belinelli said: “Wear a mask, clear your hands, that’s the most important thing that we can do right now to help ourselves and to help other people around us. I remember the first time that coronavirus came out, at the beginning of March, I don’t remember exactly. In Italy, the situation was bad at the time. I was on the phone with my family and it was important immediately to wear the mask, to keep your distances, wash your hands and everything. It’s very, very, very important right now to do those kinds of things. We need to respect the rules and hopefully, soon we are going to be ok”.
