Phoenix Suns center Aron Baynes tested positive for coronavirus, the player told Shams Charania. Baynes said that he’s been symptomatic contrary to family members who also tested positive.
“It actually put me on my butt for a good week. I slept for four days straight,” Baynes said. He added that he hasn’t produced a negative test yet but he’s not contagious now.
“I’m still not [testing negative]. I’m in protocol where I have the antibodies that we’ve tested, I have antibodies so i’m not contagious, but I still need those negatives because end of the day, that’s the criteria the NBA has set up,” Baynes said.
“I’m trying to get healthy and get back with the team. Be part of the bubble,” Baynes mentioned.
During the last couple of days, there were speculations as to why Aron Baynes, along with a number of other players like Ricky Rubio, hasn’t yet been with the Suns in Orlando. Phoenix coach Monty Williams refused to talk specifically about absent players.
Rubio practiced with the team Tuesday (21/7). French guard Elie Okobo hasn’t been confirmed to be in Orlando, as well as guard Jalen Jacque.
