In theory, Jock Landale remains a player of Zalgiris Kaunas with a contract until 2021, but as he clarified himself, his sights are set on the NBA.
Talking to the Australian ESPN, the Australian big man explained his goal: “My sole focus is on making this off-season count because it’s time I’ll never get back… that’s all in the lead-up to hopefully signing an NBA contract in October. I feel ready”.
It remains to be seen if Landale will start the season in Kaunas or if he will just wait on the NBA free agency.
His contract includes an opt-out clause that can be used and despite the reports about interest from Barcelona, the team of his former Zalgiris Kaunas coach Sarunas Jasikevicius, Landale denied any possibility of signing with them.
The 24-years old big man has been a standout in his two seasons in Europe, both in Serbia with Partizan and in Lithuania with Zalgiris Kaunas, being constantly under the NBA microscope.
