Domantas Sabonis is out of the Orlando bubble and there’s doubt if he will be able to return and play for the Pacers.
“He’s been sore. There’s a bruise there,” coach Nate McMillan said of Sabonis, who hadn’t practiced in seven days because of plantar fasciitis, a soft tissue flare-up in his left foot. “Right how he is out indefinitely. We’ll see how he feels in another week or two and really make our decision then.
“He went to Los Angeles and he felt there’s some treatment he could get that could help him. That was his reason for leaving.”
Sabonis, who leads the Pacers with 18.5 points and 12.5 rebounds, also averages 5.0 assists, has emerged as a leader and his possible absence would be a huge blow for them.
Georgian rookie center Goga Bitadze remains out due to a knee injury, as he has yet to practice with the Pacers since arriving in Orlando two weeks ago.
