The Phoenix Suns center Aron Baynes has cleared the NBA’s medical protocols after contracting COVID-19 and will be traveling to Orlando today (July 27), according to Shams Charania.

Baynes will have to quarantine after joining the bubble and log two negative coronavirus tests before he can practice with the squad. The Suns‘ first seeding game is scheduled for Friday (July 31).

“My family is all testing negative now but I’m still not. I have the antibodies so I’m not contagious but I still need those negative tests because, at the end of the day, that’s the criteria the NBA set up,” Baynes said.

Phoenix is trailing by six games in the race for a playoff spot with four teams ahead of them in the standings.

The 33-year-old big man has been on a roll before the hiatus, averaging career-best number all over with 11.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He also shot 35% from the three-point territory.
