The talks between Real Madrid and forward Gabriel Deck regarding the latter’s contract extension are paused, according to Carlos Sanchez Blas. Deck is expecting his value to be raised soon when he acquires a Spanish passport and won’t occupy a foreign player’s sport on the team’s roster.
Real Madrid signed Deck to a three-year deal in 2018 so the player will become a free agent the following offseason if he doesn’t extend his contract with the Spanish powerhouse. Deck has been reported to be on the radars of some NBA teams.
In 2019-2020, Deck averaged 7.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 20:04 minutes over 24 games. Before the season, he made an impression to the late Kobe Bryant thanks to his performances in the FIBA World Cup with the Argentinian national team, as Manu Ginobili revealed.
