The Celtics managed to weather the storm and get the 128-124 win over the Blazers despite the amazing duo of Damian Lillard and Jusuf Nurkic. The Bosnian big man scored 30 points in his second official game back after breaking his leg in March 2019.
Damian Lillard had 30 points and 16 assists for Portland, but on the other hand, Jayson Tatum scored 34 points, Jaylen Brown added 30 and the Boston Celtics built a big lead early that proved to be enough.
Boston led by as many as 24 in the second quarter, but Portland opened the fourth quarter with a 15-4 run, with three 3-pointers from Lillard and two from CJ McCollum, to put them on top 101-98. Still, thanks to a 7-0 run, the Celtics won the game.
Croatian Mario Hezonja had two points and two rebounds for the Blazers, while German forward Daniel Theiss had nine points and two rebounds as a starter for the Celtics with Turkish big man Enes Kanter flirting with the double-double (11 p. 8 r.) coming from the bench.
