Coming off a couple of poor performances in the NBA bubble, Bogdan Bogdanovic bounced back in a big way on Thursday leading the Sacramento Kings to the 140-125 victory versus the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Serbian star reset his career-high at 35 points, including 19 in the first quarter. The Kings ended the crazy quarter with 49 points, further torched their opponents with 40 points in the third period.
Draining shots from several angles, Bogdanovic finished 13/20 from the field. 6/9 beyond the arc. He also produced four rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Fellow backcourt starter De’Aaron Fox added 30 points and ten assists.
Serbian contribution from Nemanja Bjelica as well with 11 points, four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block returning to the starting unit. Reserve Alex Len put up eight points, six rebounds, and one steal.
On the other side, Nicolo Melli was held to four points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out two assists in 15 minutes. Teammate Zion Williamson did not miss a field goal up to the fourth quarter but his team-high 24 points shared with Brandon Ingram went to waste.
The first Kings “W” since the restart of the 2019-20 season sent both teams to 29-39. Both sides will be right back in action on Friday, the Sacramento organization battling the Brooklyn and the Pelicans facing the Washington Wizards.
