The Philadelphia 76ers’ Ben Simmons will leave the bubble in order to undergo surgery to remove a loose body in his left knee, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
While the Sixers haven’t ruled out Simmons for the season, the team would need to make a deep run into the playoffs for his return to happen, and even then it’s not for certain. For now, the Sixers need to move forward without counting on Simmons.
Simmons injured his knee in Philly’s win over the Washington Wizards and was diagnosed with a subluxation of his left patella
The 24-year-old has been averaging 16.4 points, eight assists, 7-8 rebounds and a league-high 2.1 steals.
