As the regular season comes to an end, the NBA plans to hold the Aug. 20 Draft Lottery virtually, with 14 team representatives appearing via virtual display, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Draft Lottery was initially planned to take place in May, though the season suspension resulted in its rescheduling.
So far, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Charlotte Hornets are known to be included in the lottery after not being invited for the end of the regular season and the bubble. They will be joined by the three teams that have been eliminated in Orlando so far: Washington Wizards, Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans and eventually joined by three more Western Conference teams.
