Luka Doncic was in danger of missing Game 4 against the Clippers due to a banged-up ankle and his Latvian teammate Kristaps Porzingis ended up being absent due to knee soreness.
However, he didn’t slow down. Despite trailing by 21 points at the start and by eight at half time (66-58), Luka Doncic registered one more historical triple-double with 43 points, 17 rebounds, and 13 assists including the winning shot in the 135-133 overtime win which tied the series at 2-2 for Dallas.
Doncic is just the third player in NBA history to record at least 40 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists in a postseason game after Oscar Robertson (Mar. 21, 1963) and Charles Barkley (June 1, 1993). No other player however matched Doncic’s exact numbers.
Tim Hardaway junior added 21 points and Trey Burke scored 25 for the Mavericks who also got 10 points by Serb center Boban Marjanovic, while German forward Maxi Kleber had seven points and nine rebounds.
Kawhi Leonard scored 32 points for the losing side, Lou Williams had 36 from the bench and Croatian big man Ivica Zubac added 15 points but in the end, it was all about Doncic.
