The Mavericks announce that Kristaps Porzingis has been playing with a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee and have ruled him out for the remainder of their first-round series against the Clippers.
Despite having the benefit of two extra days of rest after the Bucks protest that ended up disrupting the NBA playoffs, the news were not good.
Before the announcement, Mavs coach Rick Carlisle admitted that Porzingis missed Friday’s practice.
Porzingis also missed Game 4 and Game 5 and his absence is a huge blow for the Mavericks, even if in Game 4, Luka Doncic made history and led Dallas to the win.
However, the Clippers have now a 3-2 advantage and can close things out on Sunday.
