Danilo Gallinari scored 25 points including the win-sealing free throws as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Houston Rockets 104 – 100 in a “do-or-die” Game 6 to tie the first-round series 3-3.
Chris Paul dropped a team-high 27 points and posted seven assists while draining the go-ahead free throws for the 102-100 with 13 seconds to play. He had previously hit back-to-back triples with the Thunder down 98 – 92 to tie the game.
With the score 100 – 100, Russel Westbrook had a bad pass and then Gallinari made it a two-possession game with four seconds remaining.
James Harden had a game-high 32 points, eight rebounds plus seven assists but shot 3-11 3-pointers while also committing five turnovers. Westbrook added 19 points and seven turnovers.
Dennis Schroder contributed 12 points and eight rebounds to the Thunder.
Earlier on Tuesday (31/9), Jimmy Butler’s and Goran Dragic’s Miami Heat took a 1-0 lead against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks in the East semifinals.
