The 2020 NBA draft could be potentially pushed as late as November 18, according to reports by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The league has informed teams on the revised date (originally scheduled for October 16) and both the NBA and NBPA have been negotiating on that new date per the report.
Consequently, the start of the free-agency will be also be pushed back, with its initial start being October 18.
Minnesota Timberwolves have the first pick in the upcoming draft after winning last month’s lottery, while they also have the 17th pick they acquired in a trade from Atlanta Hawks via Brooklyn Nets.
The changes in the upcoming draft date could also impact teams across the Old Continent, with players’ moves on hold until a final day for the draft (and the free agency) is set.
