Boston Celtics eliminated reigning champions Toronto Raptors on Friday to advance to the Eastern Conference finals and 26-year-old All-Star forward Pascal Siakam was down on himself for his performance when he talked to reporters post-game.
“Obviously, I have to be better,” Siakam said. “It was definitely a learning moment for me just learning from this experience and just learning that you’ve gotta be ready and I wasn’t able to help my teammates. I take a lot of the blame”.
Siakam was averaging 23.6 points on 45.9% FG and 35.9% from the three-point line during the regular season, but his numbers dipped in the Orlando bubble, with 16.9 points on 39.4% overall shooting.
“It’s an experience,” he added. “All the greats go through it and you have to learn from it. If you want to be considered one of the best players you have to be able to rise from these moments, and that’s something I plan to do.”
