There’s significant optimism within the Boston Celtics that forward Gordon Hayward will be active to play in Game 3 against the Miami Heat, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
The 30-year-old forward was out with right ankle sprain for the past month. He averaged 17.5 points and 6.7 rebounds in the regular season while he played only one game in the playoffs before getting sidelined.
In the two games he played vs. Miami this season, Hayward logged 29 points and nine rebounds as well as 15 points and seven rebounds respectively – one win, one loss.
The Celtics are currently down 2-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals after the Heat snatched two games in a come-from-behiind fashion.
