Jimmy Butler registered the third 40-point triple-double in NBA Finals history guiding the Miami Heat to the win, 115-104, against the Los Angeles Lakers Sunday night. Despite missing Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo, the Florida organization managed to cut the deficit in the best-of-seven series to 2-1.

The former Marquette standout proved more than ready for Game 3. Daggers preventing the Lakers a late comeback send him to 14/20 twos and a game-high 40 points, combined with the 13 assists and 11 rebounds lifted him to the 21st Finals triple-double.

Kelly Olynyk and Tyler Herro added 17 points apiece. Duncan Robinson went for 13 and Jae Crowder for 12.

On to the Lakers, LeBron James ended up with 25 points, ten rebounds, and eight steals. Anthony Davis through foul trouble hit 15 points. Kyle Kuzma and Markieff Morris scored 19 each off the bench.

Game 4 is planned to continue the series in the Orlando bubble Tuesday.
