The Minnesota Timberwolves or the Golden State Warriors considering trading away top picks of the 2020 NBA draft may bring the Chicago Bulls in a higher position, explains NBA insider Tom Haberstroh.

The Bulls are currently ranked fourth but seem ready to move up completing a trade for the first or the second pick, belonging to the Timberwolves and Warriors, respectively. Speaking on the latest Bulls Talk Podcast with K.C. Johnson, Haberstroh mentioned he’s expecting recently-appointed executive vice president Arturas Karnisovas to consider improving his team’s draft selection.

“I think he might move up because I think No. 1 with Minnesota and No. 2 (with Golden State) is going to be readily available,” said Haberstroh, “I would be surprised if you didn’t see Charlotte (at No. 3) or Chicago move up in the draft.”

Both the Timberwolves and the Warriors may prefer to gain a win-now player rather than retaining their draft picks, per recent reports. However, Karnisovas may go the other way aiming to lead the Bulls into a fresh successful era.

Coming out of Maccabi Tel Aviv, Deni Avdija remains among young upstarts projected to be selected with picks mentioned above and possibly included in a trade.

The draft is scheduled to be held on November 18.
