The Los Angeles Clippers are interested in signing Los Angeles Lakers guard Rajon Rondo and will likely pursue him once free agency begins, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.
While the Lakers will probably be looking to keep Rondo on board, the player is expected to decline his 2020-21 option in order to explore his options as a free agency, Stein also reports.
If Rondo becomes available, then he’ll be a free agent after completing the 2019-20 season as an NBA champion with the Lakers. He averaged 8.9 points, 6.6 assists and 4.3 rebounds in the playoffs en route to his second NBA title after the one he won with the Boston Celtics in 2008.
