DeMar DeRozan decided to opt-in and keep his $27.7 million salary with the San Antonio Spurs for the 2020-21 season, according to multiple reports.
However, it has to be noted that this move doesn’t change the fact that DeRozan remains reportedly a target of the Los Angeles Lakers who want to acquire him via trade.
As it’s already reported the reigning champs are willing to include forward Kyle Kuzma and former Spurs guard Danny Green in a potential trade that would bring them De Rozan.
Apart from DeRozan, LaMarcus Aldridge is another player that the Spurs will be looking to potentially trade, O’Connor also reports.
DeRozan has been a Spur since 2018, when San Antonio acquired him in the Kawhi Leonard trade. Aldridge joined the team in 2015 as a free agent, following his stint with the Portland Trail Blazers.
