Young Lithuanian swingman Deividas Sirvydis will participate in the Detroit Pistons training camp for the 2020-21 season labeled for a spot in the regular-season squad after completing his stint with Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, the Israeli club announced Tuesday.
Sirvydis, 20, inking a long-term contract last May included an NBA-out clause. He was picked 37th in the 2019 draft by the Dallas Mavericks, but his NBA rights were subsequently traded to the Pistons.
Coming out of the Rytas Vilnius youth team, he went on to make his senior squad debut in 2017. Two years forward, he played in the Summer League with the Pistons but returned to Europe to continue developing for one more season.
His brief stay at Hapoel Jerusalem after three professional campaigns with Rytas included his first three Basketball Champions League appearances. He averaged 1.3 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per contest.
NBA training camps open on December 1. The approaching regular-season will begin three weeks later, December 22.
