Former All-EuroLeague guard Brad Wanamaker is becoming an unrestricted free agent after the Boston Celtics have declined him a qualifying offer according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
This is exactly what happened during the previous offseason, when Boston didn’t extend Wanamaker a qualifying offer after his debut year with the team. The American guard then returned to Boston by signing a new one-year deal.
Wanamaker averaged 6.9 points, 2.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 19.3 minutes in 2019-2020, a season during which he saw an increase in his output and playing time in comparison with his first year with the Celtics.
Before he first signed with Boston in 2018, Wanamaker had emerged as one of the most prominent guards in Europe with successful stints on Brose Bamberg, Darussafaka Istanbul and Fenerbahce.
