After spending nine seasons with Cleveland Cavaliers, free-agent center Tristan Thompson has reached an agreement with the Boston Celtics on a two-year, $19 million deal, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.
Thompson started his NBA run with Cavaliers in 2012 and averaged a double-double with 12 points and 10.1 rebounds for a second consecutive season in 2019-20.
The 29-year-old big man played in 447 consecutive games from 2012 through 2017 and leaves as Cleveland’s third-best career rebounder. He is the ninth-leading active offensive rebounder in the league (2,115) and ranks among the top 100 all-time (currently No. 91).
