Mario Hezonja and Marko Guduric are candidates to be traded or cut by the Memphis Grizzlies. John Hollinger, former Vice President of Basketball Operations of the Grizzlies and current NBA columnist at The Athletic, hinted as much regarding the former Turkish Airlines EuroLeague stars.
“If your name starts with “Mar” and ends with “o” you probably won’t be on this team on Dec. 22,” he wrote on Twitter.
The case here is the team carrying 20 players into the preseason, including two with two-way contracts. Fifteen players plus two two-way contracts are the most allowed at the start of the Regular Season in three weeks.
Hezonja, 25, was recently brought in via trade. Since 2015, he has played in 335 NBA games, including five playoffs tilts last season with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Guduric, 25, made out 44 appearances in his debut NBA season with the Grizzlies averaging 3.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per match.
Both players are contracted through the 2020-21 season.
