Multiple G League teams plan to opt-out of the proposed 2020-21 season in a bubble set up in Atlanta, reports JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors.

The proposal sends the participating sides to Atlanta for a season lasting around one month likely starting late January, instead of the conventional format with teams hosting games at home venues. Entering the Georgia bubble would require a fee of approximately $500K, daily coronavirus testing, and quarantine for players.

According to the latest update of the G League status, six to eight teams are not on board and expected to bypass the season. It remains unclear whether the shortened season will actually take place if those teams elect to sit out.

On a related note, the NBA recently released the first half of the schedule for the 2020-21 NBA Regular Season setting up games until March 4. Regular Season action is planned to begin on December 22.
