After a two-day delay, James Harden reported back to Houston, however, he might be heading in another direction soon. As ESPN reported, Harden indicated to the Houston Rockets before training camp that he would be open to a trade to the Philadelphia 76ers or possibly other contenders.
Rockets coach Stephen Silas confirmed that his star player took a coronavirus test at the Toyota Center in Houston on Tuesday as part of the league’s protocol to return to play. He is waiting to be cleared and resume practices with the rest of the team.
“That’s pretty much all I know,” Silas said. “Him getting tested is good for everybody.”
For a long time, it was rumored that Harden’s preferred destination was the Brooklyn Nets with the aim to form a superteam with former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
However, according to ESPN, the Nets weren’t interested and Harden informed the Rockets that he would be agreeable if a trade with the 76ers, or any other contender, materialized.
