Paul George inks max contract extension with the Clippers

Paul George has signed a maximum contract extension with the Los Angeles Clippers, per ESPN. He actually had a player option for the 2021-22 season, which will be replaced by the new four-year contract, which includes a new player option for the 2024-25 season.

According to the previous contract, he inked in 2018 as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder, the six-time All-Star has $35.4M guaranteed for the 2020-21 season. The extension prior to his 11th NBA campaign adds four years and $190M.

George, 30, joined the Clippers in 2019 following seven seasons with the Indiana Pacers and two with the Thunder. He averaged 21.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.4 steals per game of the regular season with his third NBA team, and 20.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.5 assists per playoff tilt.
