Nikola Jokic is an inspiring figure for the rest of his Denver Nuggets players not only because of how he performs on the floor but also because of his habits off of it.
“I really respect Nikola just in how he handles himself off the court,” said Nuggets forward Michael Porter,” per Joel Rush. Porter proceeded to absolutely praise multiple elements of the Serbian center’s behavior and character starting with the big man’s post-game routine.
“No matter if he plays good or bad, he’s always in the weight room after the game, he’s always making sure he gets his recovery in before he leaves the arena, he always makes sure he gets his sleep in, just so that he’s ready to go the next day,” Porter said.
“And we can always count on him to be consistent,” Porter added. “We know we’re not gonna have to wonder if he’s gonna play certain games due to load or whatever. We know he’s ready to go every day. So I respect that.”
What Porter likes the most about Jokic? Always being there. “And I would say the best attribute about a player is availability. And he is a guy that’s always available, you know what you’re gonna get… We know what he’s gonna bring, and he’s learning how to lead by example.”
