Following the Christmas day win and his 18 points versus the Dallas Mavericks, Dennis Schroder confirmed discussions with the Los Angeles Lakers regarding a contract extension and went on expressing his wish to ink a new deal.
“I would love to. It’s just got to be fair on both sides,” he said replying to a question about renewing his contract, relays Lakers insider Dan Woike.
Before the start of the season, he turned down the initial offer, per ESPN. He will become eligible for a better contract after February 16.
Schroder, 27, is off to a great start to his 2020-21 campaign, shortly after his trade to the Lakers. The former point guard of the Atlanta Hawks and Oklahoma City Thunder averaged 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists over the first two matches.
