Playing without injured Kawhi Leonard and Marcus Morris, the Clippers missed heavy firepower, but Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks took no prisoners.
The final score was 124-73 with Slovenian sensation Doncic getting almost a triple-double (24 p., 9 r. 8 as.) in just 26 minutes of action.
The LA Clippers trailed by 50 points (77-27) at halftime to the Dallas Mavericks, who set the record for the largest halftime lead in NBA history. The Mavericks’ 50-point lead at intermission topped the previous mark for the biggest halftime lead — a 47-point lead the Golden State Warriors had over the Sacramento Kings in November 1991, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
The Mavericks shot 58% from the field and buried nine 3-pointers in the half. The Clippers made a total of nine field goals while missing 18-of-19 3-point attempts in the half.
German Maxi Kleber added five points and five rebounds for the winning side, while Serb Boban Marjanovic had four points and five rebounds. Spaniard Serge Ibaka with 13 points and nine rebounds had the best numbers from the Clippers, Croatian center Ivica Zubac added 10 points, while Frenchman Nicolas Batum had four points and six rebounds.
