Ja Morant will be sidelined for the next three-to-five weeks with a grade 2 left ankle sprain, according to Shams Charania.
The 21-year-old point guard left the court in a wheelchair during the second quarter of the Memphis Grizzlies match against the Brooklyn Nets.
He got hurt after an attempt to block the Nets forward Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot’s shot, as he landed awkwardly on the Frenchman’s foot.
Morant put on a furious start to the season with 44 and 28 points in the first two games along with nine and seven assists respectively. Against the Nets, he had logged seven points and three assists before getting injured.
