Eleven games were on the program in the NBA last night and there were a few performances that stole the spotlight with Bradley Beals’ 60-point piece leading the way.
Beal tied the franchise record (set by Gilbert Arenas in 2006) but his 57 points through the first three quarters weren’t enough as the Wizards still lost to the Sixers 141-136. Davis Bertans added 17 points while Joel Embiid with 38 and Seth Curry with 28 were leading Philadelphia.
“I’m pissed off. “I’m mad. I don’t count [them]. … Any of my career highs, they’ve been in losses. So I don’t give a damn. You can throw it right out the window with the other two or three I’ve had. I just want to win. Sometimes you might be able to score 40, 50, 60, whatever the case may be, but I just want to win, whatever that looks like. We came up a little bit short tonight,” Beal said.
Another big performance was seen in Atlanta but for the away team as Gordon Hayward led Charlotte to a 102-94 win with 44 points. LaMelo Ball helped out with 16 points and eight assists. John Collins logged 23 points, 11 boards for Atlanta while Clint Capela had seven and 19.
Julius Randle was off to another great game and led the New York Knicks to a 112-100 win over Utah, their fifth win in six games. Randle logged 30 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists. On the other side, Rudy Gobert had 14 points, 12 rebounds.
Malcolm Brogdon banked in 35 while Domantas Sabonis had 22 points and 12 boards in Indiana’s 114-107 win against the Rockets. Harden was stopped at 15 points although he wished out 12 assists while John Wall scored 28.
Milwaukee got the job done against Detroit with 130-115 on the scoreboard, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo with 25 and Khris Middleton with 23 points.
