Stephen Curry discussed early struggles for the Golden State Warriors in the 2020-21 NBA Regular Season following the loss to the Phoenix Suns Thursday evening. His team fell to 10-9 failing to build a three-game winning streak for the first time through 19 matches so far.
“When the games are in the margins for us this year, the common theme is certain three-four minute windows we don’t play with the right intentions,” he assessed regarding the building trend of defeats by a wide margin, relays ESPN’s Nick Friedell.
“We can’t make the same mistakes over and over and over again and we just have to come with the right intentions so that at some point it all clicks and then 1-13 understand what we’re trying to do,” added the three-time NBA champion and two-time MVP.
Despite rumors circulating whether Curry should demand a trade or not and key teammate Klay Thompson sidelined for the remainder of the season, he remains focused on getting the Warriors back on track and everyone involved on the same page.
“It’s not ever going to be just a one-man show. You can’t win like that in this league,” he noted using his experience in high-flying teams the Warriors presented in the past, “So we got to be able to figure that out.”
His team-high 27.7 points per contest paired by 6.1 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game this season still strongly add to the Warriors’ bid to return to the playoffs. The Bay Area organization currently sits in a virtual four-team tie stretching up to sixth place in the Western Conference.
