Domantas Sabonis scored a career-high-tying 32 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and dished out five assists to lead the Indiana Pacers to a 134 – 116 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Sabonis would probably record a new personal scoring record but there was no need for him to play the last four minutes of the game with the Pacers up 127 – 102. He was already 35 minutes on the court during which he shot 13 – 15 from the field.
After falling to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, the Utah Jazz resumed their winning ways by beating the Detroit Pistons 117 – 105. Bojan Bogdanovic contributed 18 points (including back-to-back triples for the 115 – 105 lead) while Rudy Gobert had nine points and seven rebounds for Utah.
Svi Mykhailiuk had three points in five minutes while Sekou Doumbouya played for 10 minutes and went scoreless.
Nikola Vucevic had 21 points and 18 rebounds against the Toronto Raptors but he and the Orlando Magic fell victim to Fred VanVleet 54 points (a new Raptors franchise record) on a career-high 11 3-pointers to lose 123 – 108.
The Portland Trail Blazers edged the Washington Wizards with Enes Kanter registering a double-double of 14 points and 15 rebounds in 36 minutes.
Deni Avdija posted 13 points and seven rebounds for the Wizards while Davis Bertans had an off night with 2-10 shots and six points. Moe Wagner scored six point as well.
Nicolas Batum registered a season-high-tying 21 points plus six rebounds in the Los Angeles Clippers‘ 124 – 120 loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Serge Ibaka added nine points and 10 rebounds for the Clippers while Ivica Zubac finished with two points.
