Shaquille O’ Neal believes that what the Dallas Mavericks require to get out of their slump is someone “like Luka Doncic” but “a bit better,” who comes in a form of a player like Bradley Beal or Russell Westbrook.”
“I think they [Mavericks] need a guy that’s just as good like Luka but a bit better. Like a Bradley Beal or Russell Westbrook. A guy that has a dog in,” Shaq said before the game between the Mavericks and the Golden State Warriors.
“If you got another guy, another ‘dog’ out there that can get points, get 25, 26, 27 per night,” Shaq added. When Kenny Smith said that Kristaps Porzingis is doing that, Shaq replied that the Latvian big man “… ain’t doing that.”
Porzingis is averaging 19.6 points (along with 8.2 rebounds) this season. He had 25 points in the 147 – 116 loss to the Warriors, a result that marked the Mavs’ seventh defeat in the last eight games.
