The Houston Rockets guaranteed DeMarcus Cousins’ $2.3M contract for the rest of the season, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Cousins, 30, inked the one-year partially guaranteed contract last December. The Rockets became his fourth NBA team following the Sacramento Kings, New Orleans Pelicans, and Golden State Warriors.
The Houston organization decided to keep him for the remainder of the 2020-21 season ahead of the February 27 deadline for players on non-guaranteed deals. The former Kentucky standout will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Cousins averaged 9.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.7 blocks per match over his first 25 appearances with the Rockets.
