Another night, another historic achievement for Nikola Jokic, who tapped 37 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds to reach his 50th career-triple double as the Denver Nuggets (20-15) overcame the Milwaukee Bucks (21-14) with a 128-97 victory on Tuesday.
Jokic became just the ninth player in NBA history to achieve 50 triple-doubles, while he did so across 416 games. For comparison, Will Chamberlain has reached the same number in 703 games.
On the other end of the court, Giannis Antetokounmpo had 27 points and 8 assists for the Bucks, but they weren’t enough to stop Jokic’s historic night.
The Phoenix Suns (23-11) stunned the reigning champs Los Angeles Lakers (24-12) with a 114-104 win, as Dario Saric erupted in the fourth quarter to add up 21 points and 5 rebounds for his team. Mikal Bridges followed with 19 points and Deandre Ayton, Devin Booker each had 17 for the Suns.
LeBron James’ game-high with 38 points couldn’t save the day for the Lakers who lost their fifth out of their last seven games.
Jonas Valanciunas was among the Memphis Grizzlies‘ top contributors in their 125-111 win against the Washington Wizards (13-2) with 11 points, 16 rebounds, while Ja Morant posted a team-high with 35 points for Memphis (16-15).
Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal had 23 points each for the Wizards, as Deni Avdija produced 10 points and 7 rebounds in 26 minutes coming from the bench.
Kemba Walker posted 25 points to help the Boston Celtics (18-17) overcome the LA Clippers (24-13) with a 117-112 win. Big man Daniel Theis had 9 points and 6 rebounds, while on the other end of the court, Paul George paced the Clippers with 32 points. Nikola Batum contributed 10 points, Ivica Zubac added 8 coming off the bench and Serge Ibaka had 8.
Trae Young scored 18 points as the Atlanta Hawks (15-20) snapped Miami Heat‘s six-game winning streak with a 94-80 victory. Duncan Robinson and Goran Dragic each had 14 points for Miami (17-18) and Bam Adebayo scored 11.
Trey Lyles tapped a season-high 18 points, Dejounte Murray added 17 and the San Antonio Spurs (18-13) overcame the New York Knicks (18-18) 119-83 on Tuesday, to end the Knicks‘ three-game winning streak. Patty Mills and Luka Samanic each added 14 points for the Spurs, while Immanuel Quickley had 26 points for New York.
