Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 26 points against the Memphis Grizzlies and took over the third spot at the Milwaukee Bucks All-Time points list. He passed Sidney Moncrief, who stopped at 11,594 points, for the achievement.
The Greek Freak shot 10-19 from the field including 1-1 from deep while also adding 11 rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and one block. Khris Middleton scored 22 in addition to Pat Connaughton and Jrue Holiday’s 15 each.
It was Holiday with a step-back two in transition that saved Antetokounmpos’s historic moment from almost getting spoiled by the tenacious Grizzlies who were led by Ja Morant who banked in game-high 35 points.
Jonas Valanciunas logged a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds while Dillon Brooks scored 23 points.
Milwaukee improved to 22-14, bouncing back from the loss to the Denver Nuggets which was their only one the past seven games, while Memphis now holds a 16-16 record.
