Following the Denver Nuggets overcoming the Indiana Pacers on the road Thursday, Nikola Jokic will be shifting his focus on the 2021 All-Star Game planned to be held Sunday in Atlanta. During the last game prior to the Regular Season break, he was named to Team LeBron alongside fellow Europeans Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Doncic in the starting unit.
“It’s a very good team, I am not going to lie,” he mentioned while reading on Team LeBron and Team Durant, “It’s going to be fun.”
Sunday will mark his third consecutive All-Star Game appearance. His 27.1 points, 11.0 rebounds, 8.6 assists, 1.6 steals, and 0.6 blocks per match so far this season would presumably earn him a spot even if somehow he didn’t clinch the starting gig.
“I really enjoy the moment,” he said, “It’s a pleasure to be there on the floor with those guys. It means a lot just to share the floor with the best players in the league.”
The Nuggets up 21-15 off four wins in a row going into the break will be back in action on March 13 visiting the Memphis Grizzlies. Jokic is looking forward to some days to relax after the All-Star Game.
“Just to have a couple of days off, maybe eat bad, some days completely off basketball, not thinking about basketball, I think it will be nice,” he hilariously predicted.
The Joker wrapped up the first part of the 2020-21 Regular Season with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists versus the Pacers.
